No me gusta, Senor Mitt:

''Hugo Chávez has tried to steal an inspiring phrase -- Patria o muerte, venceremos [Fatherland or death, we shall overcome],'' Romney said. ``It does not belong to him. It belongs to a free Cuba.''

No, it doesn't, said University of Miami Professor Jaime Suchlicki.

''It belongs to Fidel,'' said Suchlicki, an expert on Cuban history. ``I don't know where [Romney] got that.''

[...]

Romney punctuated his speech with ''Libertad, libertad, libertad!'' to show his support for freedom in Cuba. But to some, he was echoing a line from Scarface, a movie notorious for its stereotyped portrayal of Cuban immigrants.

i'm voting for Mitt Romney!

I have decided all the candidates from both sides suck.

Everyone is exactly the type of person I despise and run from whenever possible. Big ego's, no love of other people.

So now I am going to vote for whatever person I feel will provide the most entertainment for me as I see our country collaspe.

McCain is pretty funny with
his straight talk...and Hillary is pretty funny too she will do anything-up to and including pretending to be a black man to an all black congregation. That was hilarious.

But Romney-trumping to what he see's as the communist left-bwhahahahaha!

He wins.

A grand jury has indicted three police officers in the killing of Sean Bell. Bell was killed in November on his wedding day when police fired 50 shots at a car carrying him and two friends. All three men were unarmed. Sources say two of the officers will be charged with second-degree manslaughter. A third officer will be charged with reckless endangerment.

In Memory of Tanya Reinhart

By NOAM CHOMSKY

...

Reinhart: "I argue that the reason that the U.S. exerted even limited pressure on Israel, for the first time in recent history, was because at that moment in history it was no longer possible to ignore world discontent over its policy of blind support of Israel. This shows that persistent struggle can have an effect, and can lead governments to act. Such struggle begins with the Palestinian people, who have withstood years of brutal oppression, and who, through their spirit of zumud--sticking to their land - and daily endurance, organizing and resistance, have managed to keep the Palestinian cause alive, something that not all oppressed nations have managed to do. It continues with international struggle--solidarity movements that send their people to the occupied territories and stand in vigils at home, professors signing boycott petitions, subjecting themselves to daily harassment, a few courageous journalists that insist on covering the truth, against the pressure of acquiescent media and pro-Israel lobbies. Often this struggle for justice seems futile. Nevertheless, it has penetrated global consciousness. It is this collective consciousness that eventually forced the U.S. to pressure Israel into some, albeit limited, concessions. . The Palestinian cause can be silenced for a while, as is happening now, but it will resurface."

Tanya Reinhart was one of those whose determined voice and writings did just that: change global consciousness.

There are simple realities that the anti-war protesters do not recognize, but are quickly coming to understand:

1. President Bush is not going to pull US forces from Iraq unless it is a secure place with a stable government, and an American ally. He’s not gonna do it, and even the brightest member of Code Pink ought to realize that after 4 years of protesting.
2. Democrats ran a national campaign in 2006 promising a New Direction In Iraq, but they never had a plan. Gov. Dean admitted to that on election night (LINK). It was a political campaign lie to get the support of those who oppose the war in Iraq. Reflexively, the excuse people offer is that Democrats have only had power for X days, weeks, or months, but if they promised a plan, then they should’ve had the plan at the time, and there’s just no way to pretend that presenting such a campaign core idea-such a critical matter of national security and interest deserves a backseat to raising the minimum wage (the first thing elected Democrats chose to do instead of presenting their New Direction In Iraq plan)
3. Since Democrats never had a plan, since they lied and pandered to the American people, and since they hold power over a lame duck President now, the power of the purse is in their hands. If they REALLY want to end the war, then they would barter and trade anything with Congressional Republicans to get the votes to end it, but making tax cuts permanent in exchange for votes to end the war is too high a price. Why? Because they don’t really care. The DNC’s agenda is more important than their patriotic campaign promise to the protesters. Those who promised the New Direction In Iraq don’t care about what happens in Iraq. They’ll say they want America to succeed, or that they want an end to the war, but they only say it like they’d say they want to win the lottery. If they really cared, they’d do something. They’d give up any agenda items to make it happen. Non-binding resolutions don’t change things. There’s no such thing as non-binding change. The war in Iraq is just a political crutch to get into power. In 2004 it might have been a political crutch for Republicans to hold power, but today, it is a Democratic Party tool for taking power.
4. And this brings us to our last simple fact: people, who protest President Bush, Vice President Cheney, etc., are protesting the wrong politicians and are serving as political tools for the very same politicians who do not care about the war, who promised a New Direction In Iraq, who lied, and who continue to demonstrate that their political agenda is more important than anything else.

Soldier's Death Strengthens Senators' Antiwar Resolve
Kerry, Dodd Demand Stronger Challenge to Bush

Tuesday, January 30, 2007; Page A03

Just before Christmas, an Army captain named Brian Freeman cornered Sens. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.) and John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) at a Baghdad helicopter landing zone. The war was going badly, he told them. Troops were stretched so thin they were doing tasks they never dreamed of, let alone trained for.

Freeman, 31, took a short holiday leave to see his 14-month-old daughter and 2-year-old son, returned to his base in Karbala, Iraq, and less than two weeks ago died in a hail of bullets and grenades. Insurgents, dressed in U.S. military uniforms, speaking English and driving black American SUVs, got through a checkpoint and attacked, kidnapped four soldiers and later shot them. Freeman died in the assault, the fifth casualty of the brazen attack.

The death of the West Point graduate -- a star athlete from Temecula, Calif., who ran bobsleds and skeletons with Winter Olympians -- has radicalized Dodd, energized Kerry and girded the ever-more confrontational stance of Democrats in the Senate. Freeman's death has reverberated on the Senate floor, in committee deliberations and on television talk shows.

"This was the kind of person you don't forget," Dodd said yesterday. "You mention the number dead, 3,000, the 22,000 wounded, and you almost see the eyes glaze over. But you talk about an individual like this, who was doing his job, a hell of a job, but was also willing to talk about what was wrong, it's a way to really bring it to life, to connect."

Ajata said...

"He was an augmentee, who happened to be called up to fill a slot," said Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Edmond, a full-time staff member at the 412th Civil Affairs Battalion in Whitehall, Ohio, which Freeman was called to join. "It's almost to fill a void," he said, commenting on the Army's deepening manpower shortage, especially in the reserve, which requires it to cobble together units with people from across the country.

Charlotte Freeman, Freeman's wife, recalled her husband's shock upon receiving an Army telegram ordering him back to active duty. "He walked into the house and was totally white," she said yesterday. "He had moved on" from the Army.

Ajata said...

"For my sake, he tried to get out" of the deployment, she said. But she knew he felt torn. "A part of him felt very guilty, because he had never gone to Iraq. He had dodged that bullet," she said.

Concerned about leaving his wife while she was pregnant, Freeman was able to obtain a three-month deferral and spend time with their newborn daughter, Ingrid. Just after Christmas in 2005, he grew so concerned about his pending deployment -- and his lack of qualifications to be a civil affairs officer -- that he anxiously contacted a reporter for The Washington Post.

Ajata said...

Once in Iraq, Freeman was dismayed to find that his training "had no relation to what they were actually doing," Charlotte Freeman said. "He was appalled," enduring danger but seeing no clear mission, she said. Moreover, he believed that the Iraqis "didn't want us there."

Ajata said...

Late last year, Freeman approached the senators at Landing Zone Washington, in Baghdad's Green Zone, "almost out of the shadows," Dodd recalled.

Even though he felt nervous, he told his wife later, he delivered his message with urgency. Soldiers were being deployed to do missions that they were utterly untrained to do; Freeman, for example, an armor officer, had been sent to help foster democracy and rebuild an Iraqi civil society. State Department personnel who could do those jobs were restricted in their travel off military bases by regional security officers who said it was unsafe for them to venture out.

"Senator, it's nuts over here," Dodd quoted Freeman as saying.

Ajata said...

Calling him "ridiculously" bright, Nichols said Freeman did not oppose the war but "wanted it to be done better and smarter."

After Dodd mentioned an unnamed Army captain's concerns on NBC's "Meet The Press," Freeman e-mailed him to bring up another concern: the mistreatment of Iraqi interpreters by military contractors.

Ajata said...

The connection between Dodd and Freeman went beyond a chance encounter and an exchange of e-mails. On Jan. 20, the day of Freeman's death, his wife was visiting his mother in Utah when a neighbor called to say that a military vehicle had stopped by the Freeman home. Frantic for news, Charlotte Freeman contacted Dodd's staff. The senator's aides learned of Brian Freeman's fate from the Defense Department and helped get military officials dispatched to his wife.

Kerry took the news personally, aides said. In Freeman, he saw something of himself -- a promising young officer, articulate and politically minded. But Kerry made it back from Vietnam.

"All that loss, for what?" Dodd asked.

Ajata said...

It was not just Freeman's death that deeply troubled and provoked the two senators, but the way he died, in an apparent betrayal by Iraqi allies. In the days after Freeman's death, Dodd drafted legislation to cap the number of troops in Iraq. Last week in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Kerry backed Dodd in a failed effort to attach the legislative cap to the nonbinding resolution of opposition.

And both men are demanding that the Senate push the confrontation with Bush further. Kerry has resurrected his call for legislation setting a date certain for the withdrawal of troops.

"The notion of sense-of-the-Senate resolutions, what the hell does that mean?" Dodd asked yesterday. "Is that all you got?"

Almost Every Aspect of Iraqi Life has Gotten Worse in the Last Four Years

Operation Deepening Nightmare

By PATRICK COCKBURN

Irbil, Iraq.

Four years ago, in the middle of the US invasion, I drove safely from Arbil in northern Iraq to Baghdad. There were heaps of discarded weapons beside the road, and long lines of former Iraqi soldiers walking home. Signs of battle were few, aside from the hulks of burned-out tanks, but they all seemed to have been hit by US aircraft after their crews had fled.

If I tried to make the same journey today, I would be killed or kidnapped long before I reached Baghdad. ... read on

BREAKING: Sam Seder fired from Air America?

Sam Seder has apparently been fired by the new Green Family management of Air America.

We've heard from several readers now that former AAR talker Marc Maron complained Friday on-stage at the Punchline, an Atlanta comedy club that Seder was being fired and that he (Maron) was turning down an offer to replace him.

Seder won't comment; Maron isn't responding to e-mail.

The New York writer, comedian, and film maker with comedian/actor Janeane Garofalo were seminal fare at Air America with their Majority Report. Garofalo left the show amicably in 2006.

Rumors of big changes at Air America have been roiling for weeks since the March 6 sale of the company to the Green Family.

To hope for assistance and guidance through this world from wealth, relatives, and religious rites provides no profound solution. Have you forgotten that everyone is lost?

Drudge "exclusive" on Gore questions repeated discredited theory on global warming

http://mediamatters.org/items/200703190007

On March 19, the Drudge Report, a website run by Internet gossip Matt Drudge, posted the banner headline "EXCLUSIVE: GORE FACES HILL GRILLING ON 'WARMING'; QUESTIONS AWAIT FORMER VP," and purported to reveal several "[p]roposed questions" that former Vice President Al Gore will have to answer when he testifies on the impact of global warming before two congressional committees on March 21. Drudge exclaimed in his "exclusive" report that the questions "could lead [sic] Gore scrambling for answers!"

But one purported question is based on a theory that has been debunked by the scientific community:

How can you continue to claim that global warming on Earth is primarily caused by mankind when other planets (Mars, Jupiter and Pluto) with no confirmed life forms and certainly no man-made industrial greenhouse gas emissions also show signs of global warming? Wouldn't it make more sense that the sun is responsible for warming since it is the common denominator?

In fact, the claim that global warming on uninhabited planets suggests that global warming on the Earth is not likely caused by human activities has been dismissed by scientists. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), in a report it released in February, concluded that both greenhouse gases and solar radiation are contributing to global warming. The report included a section titled "Human and Natural Drivers of Climate Change," which noted that "[c]hanges in the atmospheric abundance of greenhouse gases and aerosols, in solar radiation and in land surface properties alter the energy balance of the climate system."

March 19, 2007 -- Democratic Party sources have reported to WMR that Karl Rove and a team of Republican Party election manipulators he has used in the past for tampering with U.S. elections, particularly in Florida, Ohio, and New Mexico, are under investigation by the Italian government of Prime Minister Romano Prodi and the opposition Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) of Mexico.

The sources report that investigators are looking at alleged technical and strategic advice given by Rove and GOP election tampering consultants to Silvio Berlusconi's government, particularly the arch-neo-cons in the Berlusconi Cabinet -- then Interior Minister Beppe Pisanu and Foreign Minister Ginafranco Fini. Although polls before the April 2006 election indicated that Prodi's Center-Left coalition was far ahead of Berlusconi's right-wing/neo-fascist alliance and exit polls also indicated a large Center-Left win, Prodi squeaked by with a mere 0.1 percent of the vote. Our sources claim that Rove and his Italian counterparts severely miscalculated in their planning for tampering with the Italian election returns. Rove and his advisers forgot to include the expatriate Italian vote in their calculations. The 2006 national elections were the first in which Italians abroad were allowed to vote and by failing to calculate those votes, Berlusconi lost by a hair, despite the vote counting fraud that reportedly also included siphoning blank protest votes to the Berlusconi column.

a.) That Sam's AAR ratings are the lowest on the totem pole. It would have to be either a staff purge or personal.

b.) That Maron would fuck Sam like that in public, before Sam got the chance to say goodbye to his audience.

c.) That there wouldn't have been any AAR listeners in Maron's audience that would have broken this before a piece of shit conservative blog and, if so...

d.)..that it took three days to make it onto the Internet.

I'll believe it when I hear it from Sammy.

Similarly, PRD officials are also looking at Rove and his team's involvement in providing election tampering assistance to conservative National Action Party (PAN) candidate Felipe Calderon in last July's Mexico presidential election. Calderon beat PRD candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador by a razor-thin 0.6 percent. However, as with Italy, pre-election polls and exit polls showed the PRD candidate with a commanding lead. Ballot boxes were found in garbage dumps in pro-PRD precincts. In addition, votes for the PRD were either shaved from the total count and some precincts were not even counted.

Some of the financial support for Republican interference in the Italian and Mexican elections may have been laundered through the U.S. taxpayer-funded National Endowment for Democracy, which, in turn, funds the International Republican Institute (IRI), an arm of the Republican Party. The IRI has been involved in funding election campaigns in Venezuela against Hugo Chavez and in Haiti against Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

Italian government and PRD officials have been in direct contact with Democratic Party election experts concerning the suspected international vote fraud committed by the GOP and Rove. If Rove is asked to testify in Italy about his contacts with Berlusconi government officials and refuses, he will have more than U.S. congressional subpoenas to worry about -- he could be faced with an INTERPOL Red Notice, a international arrest warrant recognized by INTERPOL member states.

I expected the President to say something like, “Our troops are coming to liberate you, so don’t shoot them.” Instead, Mr. Bush told, the Iraqis, “Do not destroy oil wells.“

Boeing-led Airborne Laser Team Fires Tracking Laser At Airborne Target

Boeing, along with industry teammates and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, yesterday successfully fired the Airborne Laser (ABL) weapon system's tracking laser in-flight at an airborne target for the first time. During Thursday's test, the modified Boeing 747-400F took off from Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and used its infrared sensors, part of ABL's Boeing-developed battle management system, to find the simulated missile exhaust generated by an instrumented target board located on the U.S. Air Force's NC-135E Big Crow test aircraft.

The ABL aircraft then pointed and fired its track illuminator laser (TILL) at the target to gather target-tracking data, a key step in a missile engagement. The TILL, a solid-state laser, is part of ABL's beam control/fire control system, developed by Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT].

"The Airborne Laser team has successfully transitioned to the next major test phase, completing the first in a series of in-flight laser firings at an airborne target," said Pat Shanahan, vice president and general manager of Boeing Missile Defense Systems.

"This first firing confirms that ABL can find an airborne target, precisely fix the track illuminator laser onto that target and use the laser firing results to track the target. This is an important step toward demonstrating the aircraft's ability to engage a flying target."

Justice Department documents released.

ABC News reports:

New e-mails released this evening by the Justice Department reveal the depth of White House involvement in the discussions to fire eight U.S. attorneys last year. The thousands of pages of e-mails suggest the White House was involved in the plan from the beginning.

The e-mails detail conversations about attorneys targeted for dismissal. There are no e-mails from Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who reportedly does not use e-mail, though the Justice Department says messages show some indication that Gonzales’ former chief of staff, D. Kyle Sampson, kept the attorney general apprised.

The House Judiciary Committee website is likely to have some of the emails in PDF form available tonight.

Countdown: Gonzo’s Tough Week Ahead
By: SilentPatriot @ 7:15 PM - PDT

Pressure is really mounting against Alberto Gonzales. As Nicole mentioned earlier, the Senate has a big week ahead in terms of hearings & investigations and the embattled AG will be center stage in at least three of them. To make things worse, The Politico is reporting that the White House is seeking Gonzales' replacement and shopping names around the senior leadership for an acceptable alternative.

But in another turn of events, a senior Bush official is now telling The Daily News that Gonzales will weather the storm. The Justice Department is slated to release a whole new round of emails any minute now — 2000 is the latest estimate — so expect some juicy headlines later today/tomorrow.

As New York Times reporter Adam Nagourney noted in a March 16 entry to the Times' weblog The Caucus, Sen. According to Nagourney, McCain, whose self-styled reputation as a "straight talker" has been embraced by the media, admitted that he was "stumped" by the questions, and told the reporter: "You know, I'm sure I've taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was." This exchange, however, has gone unreported by several news outlets that have recently praised McCain as a "straight talker."

~Weary not of us, for we are very beautiful~

Weary not of us, for we are very beautiful; it is out of very jealousy and proper pride that we entered the veil.
On the day when we cast of the body’s veil from the soul, you will see that we are the envy of despair of man and the Polestars.
Wash your face and become clean for beholding us, else remain afar, for we are beloveds of ourselves.
We are not that beauty who tomorrow will become a crone; till eternity we are young and heart-comforting and fair of stature.
If that veil become worn out, the beauty has not grown old; the life of the Veil is transient, and we are boundless life.
When Eblis saw the veil of Adam, he refused; Adam called to him, “You are the rejected one, not I.”
The rest of the angels fell down prostrate, saying as they bowed themselves, “We have encountered a beauty:
“Beneath the veil is an idol who by his qualities robbed us of reason, and we, prostrate, fell.”
If our reason does not know the forms of the foul old men from those of the beauties, we are apostates from love.
What place is there for a beauty? For he is the Lion of God. Like a child we prattled, for we are children of the alphabet.
Children are beguiled with nuts and raisins, else, how are we meet for nuts and sesame-grains?
When an old woman is hidden in helmet and chainmail, she says, “I am the illustrious Rostam of the battle ranks.”
By her boast all know that she is a woman; how should we make a mistake, seeing that we are in the light of Ahmad?
“The believer is discriminating” - so said the Prophet; now close your mouth, for we are guided rightly without speech.
Hear the rest of from Shams the Pride of Tabiz for we did not take the end of the story from that king.

Those damned Sam Seder rumors

Dan, a reader in Atlanta, sent me an email over the weekend. He went to see Marc Maron do his standup routine at a local comedy club last week. And something that Maron said shocked quite a few of his fans.

In the email, he stated:

I am a longtime Morning Sedition and Air America fan from Atlanta. I now stream, but only occaisionally, mostly to Sam Seder, at first because he has Maron on every Friday. I saw Marc Maron perform the other night at the punchline and at one point in the show, he started talking about Air America because a fan was talking to him about it before he went on or something and Maron said that Air America wanted to hire him to replace Sam Seder and that it was awkward. I'll say. Marc said he turned them down but that Seder was going to be fired.
In a nutshell, Air America told Maron that his friend Seder was being dropped and that they wanted to hire him as a replacement. Maron felt a bit uncomfortable being put in that kind of situation and said no.

I hesitated to report on this, since this was rather vague, no time frame was mentioned (did this offer to Maron happen months ago? Weeks ago?), and nobody's saying anything else about it. It's really just hearsay. So, I decided to wait and see on this one.

Well, a few people picked up on the rumor, most notably Michael Hood at BlatherWatch. He got a few emails too. Still, the rumor was pretty vague, and I make it a policy to only report rumors that have at least some credibility, preferring to leave the fiction and bullshit to the bottom feeders who lack the self-confidence to actually deal in truth. But since many come to the World's Greatest Liberal Talk Radio Blog to find out the 411, and many of Seder's fans have been visiting here as of late, thanks to a link on Seder's site, I felt it necessary to at least make mention of this whole deal.

A possible contradiction of this rumor could pertain to the recent management changes at Air America. David Bernstein was hired last week by new Air America president Mark Green to oversee programming, and in an interview with the New York Daily News, published today, he stated that he wasn't prepared as of yet to overhaul the on-air roster. "...As a product, it's too early to say if we're going in the right direction," said Bernstein. "It may be that in the end, we're already giving people exactly what they want. That's what I'll be looking at." New program directors often don't make radical changes this early in the job, and it's likely that the network would like to avoid a listener-alienating controversy such as the one that ensued with the Mike Malloy debacle.

So there you have it. It's a pretty weak rumor, and extremely vague on top of that. Is Sam Seder getting the axe? Well, nobody who knows or could possibly know anything is talking. So, consider it all just a rumor thus far. If anything changes, you can find out the real story at LTR.

White House seeking Gonzales replacements, and Gonzales’ deputy Paul McNulty is almost certain to resign, The Politico reports:

Republican officials operating at the behest of the White House have begun seeking a possible successor to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, whose support among GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill has collapsed…

Among the names floated Monday by administration officials are Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and White House anti-terrorism coordinator Frances Townsend. Former Deputy Attorney General Larry Thompson is a White House prospect. So is former solicitor general Theodore B. Olson, but sources were unsure whether he would want the job.

Republican sources also disclosed that it is now a virtual certainty that Deputy Attorney General Paul J. McNulty, whose incomplete and inaccurate congressional testimony about the prosecutors helped precipitate the crisis, will also resign shortly. Officials were debating whether Gonzales and McNulty should depart at the same time or whether McNulty should go a day or two after Gonzales.

UPDATE: Fox News’ Major Garrett reports: “Several GOP [congressional] sources told Fox tonight: Gonzales is the President’s friend and his problem, and that they will waste no political capital defending him.”

CIA leak prosecutor was ranked below 'strong' and 'loyal' prosecutors on Justice chart RAW STORY
Published: Monday March 19, 2007

"U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald was ranked among prosecutors who had 'not distinguished themselves' on a Justice Department chart sent to the White House in March 2005, when he was in the midst of leading a CIA leak investigation that resulted in the perjury conviction of a vice presidential aide, administration officials said yesterday," Dan Eggen and John Solomon report in a front page article in Tuesday's Washington Post.

According to a Post examination of Justice documents, Fitzgerald was ranked "below strong U.S. Attorneys . . . who exhibited loyalty" to the Bush Administration but rated higher than "weak U.S. Attorneys who . . . chafed against Administration initiatives, etc."

"The chart was the first step in an effort to identify U.S. attorneys who should be removed," the article continues. "Two prosecutors who received the same ranking as Fitzgerald were later fired, documents show."

US troops in Iraq want out
Published: Monday March 19, 2007

For US troops from 9th Cavalry Regiment bumping around the dangerous streets of Baghdad in Humvees after dark on Monday, news that their deployment in Iraq could be extended fell like a hammer blow.

Their commanders had cautioned that their second one-year tour due to end in October could be prolonged while US President George W. Bush later warned troops it was too soon to "pack up and go home."

The expletives during the four-hour night patrol turned the air in the Humvee, already thick with cigarette smoke, a dark shade of blue.

"We just want to get out of here as soon as possible," said one vehicle commander in one of his few printable comments.

"It's because the Iraqi army is so scared that we have to come here to die," he added, asking not to be named.

"Ninety-five percent of Iraqis are good but five percent are bad. But the 95 percent are too weak to stand up to the five percent."

"Bush should send all the Death Row prisoners here and they can be killed fighting the terrorists. We've had enough," said another soldier, as the Humvee accelerated past a roadside car in case it exploded.

Added yet another, "Bush can come fight here. He can take my 1,000 dollars a month and I'll go home."

Commander of the night operation, Lieutenant Brian Long, said the anger was understandable.

"One of the men has five children, another has three. Another has a boy aged four -- he's missed two of those years. He'll never get them back," said Long.

"It is like the movie 'Groundhog Day'. Each day is the same and nothing ever changes," he added, referring to the 1993 movie in which the principal character is doomed to repeat the same day endlessly.

Mike Malloy is the most caustic dickhead on the radio. I listened to his show last hour for the first time in weeks. He mocked one of his liberal fan's voice.

The few weeks of programming prior to his firing was unbridled hatred-- mostly directed at Jews and based on his paranoia about Jews. If you liked it , well... more hate to you.

I also noticed that he immediately hung up on someone who discussed a Zionist. Read into that what you will.. I read that he realized he was a freak and he courted Aryan Nation types.

The circle is perhaps the purest, most profound and the most common symbol in existence. With the probably infinite billions of stars, planets, moons and galaxies full of the same, the circle is well represented in the physical universe in the form of spheres. A circle, having no beginning or end, represents infinity, eternity, wholeness and femininity. Other meaningfully significant symbols or objects are circular: Stonehenge, Ouroboros, the Wheel of Life, a halo around the head of a saint, etc. In a very practical way, it can be said that circles rule the world.

Alright. This is f--ed up. Now the blogs are reporting that they HAVE fired him:

Rumors of big changes at Air America have been roiling for weeks since the March 6 sale of the company to the Green Family.

god, this is why I usually hate blogs and a lack of gatekeeping on the internet

They put out this misinformation sometimes with a purpose. This guy probably wanted an interview with Maron, so he reported that the Green family fired him. He forced Marc's hand. Fuck 'em.

In journalism school, they teach you that you must have at least two sources before you report something. That s.o.b. at blatherwatch wants to get attention for his blog, so he said, "Hey, I'll just report it until someone corrects me." So then he landed an interview with Maron a few minutes later. Maron told him that no one fired Seder. I want a lawyer to be available to sue these people at any time. They are rank amateurs.

"The promised document dump on the prosecutor purge has arrived, or started to arrive, at the House Judiciary Committee website.  Because it's a huge one, it's going to take time for all of the interesting pieces to emerge - instead of Fitzmas, it's like an Easter egg hunt.  And TPM Muckraker is asking readers to join in on the egg hunt: They have a comment thread for people to note their finds in the documents.

If you don't have time to read the thousands of pages of documents, that comment thread is a good place to go for things other people found interesting.  If you do have time to read them, let the world know by commenting - over there, here, or both - on what you find, being sure to note which document number it's in and what page it's on.  There's an awful lot of chaff and Gonzales' Department of Justice is hoping we'll miss the wheat mixed in.  Let's show them just how good bloggers are at extracting useful information and showing why it matters."

Here is a postive scenario:

the Democrats finace their own private army...called the Asses. The Asses capture Blackwater forces and force them to listen to
Al Gore's books on tape, over and over until they surrender or die of insanity.

Then the Asses restore democracy and the people elect Al Gore as president.
He turns them down and so the people elect Oprah Winfrey.

One more from the kollective, before I pass out.
Lam let go before she got to Cheney

"Apparently Dick Cheney was involved in the pay for play/bribery game with the Duke and Wade.  The only difference is DICK CHENEY used TAXPAYER  money for the payola.

Apparently this was the case Arlen Spector was talking of when he said, the reason Lam was let go was for whom she was going to investigate

"– Washington D.C. defense contractor Mitchell Wade pled guilty last February to paying then-California Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham more than $1 million in bribes.

– Wade’s company MZM Inc. received its first federal contract from the White House. The contract, which ran from July 15 to August 15, 2002, stipulated that Wade be paid $140,000 to "provide office furniture and computers for Vice President Dick Cheney."

– Two weeks later, on August 30, 2002, Wade purchased a yacht for $140,000 for Duke Cunningham. The boat’s name was later changed to the "Duke-Stir." Said one party to the sale: "I knew then that somebody was going to go to jail for that...Duke looked at the boat, and Wade bought it — all in one day. Then they got on the boat and floated away."

– According to Cunningham’s sentencing memorandum, the purchase price of the boat had been negotiated earlier that summer, around the same time the White House contact was signed."

Oprah is a strong woman

by the end of the lockdown she will have helped Rosie lose weight and assisted Janeane in gaining peace of mind.

Then she will sick Rosie and Janeane on Bush

And Bush will start screaming:

"I'm melting! I'm melting!"

and he will turn melt into green ooze and all that will be left are two ruby slippers...and Gannon will demand them back.

ok, I take that back...I don't want oprah "helping" janeane...that would ruin her...I like her the way she is.

Ohio Asks Election Board Members to Quit

CLEVELAND (AP) -- All four election board members for Cuyahoga County, troubled by recount rigging charges and voting machine problems, have been told to resign or face being fired, a state official said Monday.

Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said she called the four board members of Ohio's most populous count late Sunday, asking them to leave by close of business Wednesday.

The county, which includes all of Cleveland, has had difficulty adjusting to electronic voting. Last May's primary, the first attempt at electronic voting in the county, was marred by absent or poorly trained poll workers, lost vote-holding computer cards and a polling place that opened hours late.

Last week, two elections workers were sentenced to 18 months in prison for rigging a recount of the 2004 presidential election, not to affect the outcome but so they could avoid a more thorough review of the votes.

Brunner, a Democrat, said new leadership is needed in the county before the 2008 presidential election. She said that if the board members don't resign by her deadline, they would face public hearings and removal....
