My Ball Is Big and Round

These songs ... these songs! They're killing me!

Call Sen. Charles Schumer and tell him you want Karl Rove, Harriet Miers, et. al., to testify under oath: 202-224-6542

Call Sen. Patrick Leahy and tell him you want Karl Rove, Harriet Miers, et. al., to testify under oath:(202) 224-4242

One of our conservative regulars, HR, called in to ask: Does the nickname "Gonzo" offend Hispanics? As in, "Gonzo Is Gone-zo?"

Listener Carlos writes: "Gonzo Gone-zo does not offend me as a hispanic living in America, Gonzales/Bush admin should go!" Loretta in Williamsburg, Brooklyn says she's not offended.

Muppets, however, have called in about the "Gonzo Is Gonzo" contest

Many say that they are offended by the implication that Gonzo the Muppet is a non-factor. A Muppet of yesterday (unlike, say, Elmo). Also, several have accused The Sam Seder Juggernaut of selecting only the most ridiculous and embarrassing photos of Gonzo. The Sam Seder Show makes no apologies.

Sam,

People aren't privleged - only some communications may be privileged.

Communications between Gonzo and Turdblossom are not covered by executive privilege, as neither are the elected executive.

Sam,

This is really unfair of you! Some of us have already done our time and paid our debt to society.

But, if you must persist, I request "Do your ears hang low?"

Keep up the fight! You're the best.

The problem about young children & ANYTHING they like is the repetition.

I'm trained in child development - that repetition is strengthening neural pathways - IOW, making their brains smarter.

It may try adult patience, but it is a vital element in healthy brain development....

Also, isn't it true that the Judiciary Committee meeting was scheduled for this morning at 10:15 edt? Wouldn't that make calling Shumer moot? If not, we shouldn't limit the calls. Call anyone on the committee. I called Sen. Kennedy about Miers last week.

It seems a bit too obvious that the new US atty in Arkansas was on the Rove 'dig up the dirt' election team prior to his new appointment.
This guy has been placed in Arkansas to 'expose' what he can about Hillary before she gets too much momentum.

Baghdad reaches out to insurgents

The Iraqi vice-president, Tariq al-Hashimi, today described violent extremists as "just part of the Iraqi communities" and said he was willing to talk to them to bring peace.
Mr Hashimi, a Sunni Muslim, whose sister and two brothers were murdered last year by Shia militants, said negotiation was the only way forward.

He told the BBC that he believed there was "no way but to talk to everybody", with the exception of al-Qaida, which was "not very much willing in fact to talk to anybody". All other groups should sit down to discuss their "fears and reservations", he said.

His comments come two weeks after the new commander of US forces of Iraq, General David Petraeus, said military force was "not sufficient" to bring security and it was "critical" to speak to some militant groups.

The Iraqi president, Jalal Talabani, a Kurd, said as long ago as November 2005 that he was willing to talk to insurgents, anyone including "even criminals" if it helped stability.
