Friday: The Casualest Casual Friday Ever

Sam's so casual today, he's strapping a heart monitor to himself to prove that even his heart rate is slowing down. As always, Sam will be taking your calls on all topics at 866-303-2270, and we'll have the SammyCam in full effect starting at 9:30 eastern. And you'll want to connect to that SammyCam, so you can feast your eyes on Janeane Garofalo, who'll come by in the third hour to hang out. Plus, the always dapper Joe Conason makes his regular Friday visit. Enjoy.

Weird thing...You know when the economy produced more millionaires per capita than any other period the top tax rate was 50%...without a bazillion tax loopholes...wonder why?...Because the money was pumped back into the bottom...Then it flowed back to the top and took people with it...

Born into money is not the same as earned money...Earned money is deserved...Born into money is a waste...

I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

10I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

Posted by: -B at April 29, 2005 1:46 AM

18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Ya you wanna eliminate welfare now?...A bunch of disabled, sick single mothers and kids tossed into the streets...Then there will be more crime and then you can pay 100x as much for police and prisons to cover em...

Half our prison population would've never been in prison at all if they'd been eligible for assistance...Do you really enjoy knowing that you're paying 20-30k a yer per inmate to house these people that could've been diverted from there for half the money?

You call me a sucker but you're a deep and undeniable fool if you buy any of these phoney assed solutions pushed by the right wing...

On The View

Agreement tentatively made for Steven Jones to discuss towers, WTC 7 collapse

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
Thursday, April 5, 2007

Physicist Professor Steven Jones has confirmed that Rosie O'Donnell's staff have contacted him regarding a potential future appearance on The View to discuss the improbable collapse of the twin towers and WTC 7.

During a debate on The View, O'Donnell promised to feature a physicist as a guest on the show to discuss the physical evidence and the impossibility of jet fuel melting steel.

"A person from Rosie's team contacted me by E mail," Professor Jones told the Alex Jones Show, "so I wrote back to them and said I would be glad to appear and I named two other physicists who I trust who could also appear."

Jones said that Rosie's representatives need to get "permission" from ABC before the segment can be scheduled so the appearance is still tentative, but it is something that we might see when O'Donnell returns from vacation in around 10 days.

There are a couple of other potential developments that will strike a blow for 9/11 truth but we cannot reveal their exact nature so as to not compromise the chance of them actually unfolding.

One thing we can say for sure is that this entire story is not going away anytime soon.

Major Cuba Film by Nicole Cattell and Tribute to Air America's Sam Seder

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-clemons/major-cuba-film-by-nicole_b_45203.html

My significant other is brilliant, and so is Air America superstar political commentator Sam Seder's.

His is Nicole Cattell, an important documentary filmmaker whose REVOLUC!ON airs this next Tuesday night at 10 pm EST on New York's Thirteen-WNET.

The film focuses on the personal stories of five Cuban photographers -- on both sides of the political divide -- "whose lives and work span nearly five decades of revolution in Cuba."

Here is a snippet of a Q&A with Cattell that is worth reading in full:

What led you to make REVOLUC!ON: Five Visions?

I saw some photographs of Che Guevara that so perfectly captured the dream of the Cuban revolution that I was instantly captivated by them. I started to look into meeting the photographer. This is what led me to Raúl Corrales.

Then I started to get more interested in trying to find out what became of that dream so beautifully defined in a photo. So, it made sense to me to look at this question through photography, and that is how the film became about five photographers whose work spans nearly five decades of revolution in Cuba.

What did you want to achieve with your film?

I wanted to offer a multifaceted perspective of the Cuban revolution and explore the intersection of art and revolution. I have always been interested in not only how artists respond to and describe their social circumstances, but also in how they can participate in transforming them.

I wondered how artists participated in a society that was undergoing radical transformation or revolution. Initially, the film was just going to be about the photographers who were hired by Castro to document the revolution. The story became more complex when I realized that the revolution was not just one moment in time in Cuba, but that technically, the revolution is still happening on the island.

So it made sense to work with artists whose work spans that entire period. And it allowed me to discover the changing and varied perspectives on revolution.

I didn't ask Sam's permission to post this note from him to me -- and hope it's OK -- but it adds to the drama of this film and how it was made:

I think it was folks in the Ministry of Culture who tipped us off that Cuban counter intelligence was following us while we were making the film. Ultimately it was fine but i was freaking about losing the footage.

seder1.jpgIntriguing. Sam Seder and his wife shot this film in Cuba in 2002 -- and it sounds like there were evident parts of a security apparatus in plain view.

But when I was in Cuba recently, this just wasn't all that evident -- except around venues like the US Intersection (the equivalent of the US Embassy). I looked hard for people watching, following, monitoring -- and as a runner who ran several times all through Cuba -- and who met numerous people without supervision, clearance, or approval -- I just had a different experience than Sam.

But this film should be interesting for Cuba interested folks as well as artists.

Now about Sam Seder -- who has been the long term host of both Air America's Majority Report and then the Sam Seder Show. His gig on Air America ends this very week, today (I think) -- although he will do a Sunday show now from time to time.

I want to thank him on behalf of liberals, progressives, and radical centrists like me -- and even conservatives who really do depend on the sanity of people like Sam to make the world safe for a little political eccentricity -- for outstanding, humorous, penetrating, and policy-sculpting commentary and interviews these last couple of years.

I have been one of many who have benefited from semi-regular exchanges with Sam on his show and consider him one of the best out there in progressive radio.

So, watch Nicole Collett's film next Tuesday -- but say a toast to Sam Seder tonight.

Expect War Dog to do about 10,000 posts this next week. Because, even tho he insists that the other folks here are taking the end of Sam's show hard... War Dog will be handling it worst of all.

This blog has been the only chance he's had in his life to define himself. It wasn't enough that he hates liberals. He had to make them miserable. It wasn't enough that he went on vacation, which was miserable for him because his family left his depressed old ass ages ago. He had to make his vacations miserable for everyone else.

So this next week is it for War Dog. It's like he's in a room and he's running out of oxygen.

I'm talking literally thousands of War Dog posts.

I'm gonna skip it.

Too sad.

The Larval Vogue

Yesteday wrapping conceit around your ankles. Sacral, perhaps embedded in animated holes of did not. Your singular pile of spiked flesh chastened as a hook mysteriously drifting across voided machine terrain. Yellow fans a dazzling smile with only fifteen seconds remaining in the chalice.

A gateway to another astronaut kiss, lonely because enough is never enough. Dancing to never wear the feather of disease again. Bid farewell to the love of silver rooted in representation, a dozen roses focused on the speed of light. Triumph in desecration. It was suddenly easy to rate the larval vogue, the steely grip sullying your bloodied crevice. Wounded wings...

Empty, burning allies at a cross of wrinkled onyx, psychic energies flown to drivel. A beautiful play at nothing. Fighting another location doomed to handle flaccid, exposed ribs until the dawn of the last day ingesting the best this life had to offer twice. Turning too harshly, with rogue powers destined to attempt choke-holds on blithe sentiment, inspired by a leavening curl anywhere, anytime.

When the gulf between flatness and dry resonances sense every lazy eye screaming to fly by voices automatic why at the good breathing in and out in filial spurts, a frozen dial constructed together,

a noble loft, away with the over

projecting tender architectures onto you

to unite right and wrong,

feral tendrils of aesthetics

sipping ecstatic wine.

Flogging Molly's...Raise What is Left OF the Flag FOr me:

His eyes they closed and his last breath spoke
he had seen all to be seen
A life once full, now an empty vase
Wilt the blossums on his early grave
Walk away me boy, walk away me boy
And by mornin' we'll be free
Wipe that golden tear from your mother dear
And raise what's left of the flag for me

Then the rosary beads count them one,
two, three
Fell apart as they hit the floor
In our garb of black we must pay respect
To the colour we're born to mourn
Walk away me boys, walk away me boys
And by morning we'll be free
Wipe that golden tear from your mother dear
And raise what's left of the flag for me

In his place there grew an angry festered wound
Filled with hatred and remorse
Where I'd pick and scratch till the blood it matched
The silent rage not that fills my lungs
For there are many ways to kill a man they say
With bayonet, axe, or sword
But son a bullet fired from a shapeless guise
Leaves but the shell of a Thompson gun

Walk away me boys, walk away me boys
And by morning we'll be free
Wipe that golden tear from your mother dear
And raise what's left of the flag for me

From the East out to the Western shore
Where many men and many more will fall
But no angel flies with me tonight
Till freedom reigns on all
And curse the name for which we slaved our days
Till every man shall his kingdom come
But sure as night turns day
Ends the passion play
Oh my god what have they done
With madman's rage, well they dug our graves
But the dead rise again you fools

Walk away me boys, walk away me boys
And by morning we'll be free
Wipe that golden tear from your mother dear
And raise what's left of the flag for me

Walk away me boys, walk away me boys
And by morning we'll be free
Wipe that golden tear from your mother dear
And raise what's left of the flag for me

Sam finished up pretty strong at AAR..

If it had not been for Janeane it could have been different..

But by polluting the Ad Sales waters, Janeane did Sam a favor..

She kept Sam form a long drawn out stay in a a very unhealthy atmosphere...

I am sure it is no fun going to work in that building..

Then Sam has to spend all his time working on Negative Thoughts...

Then to top it off, he must deal with a Blog full of Crazy Talkers..

Not the way life is supposed to work out..!!!!

War Dog said...

Of course Sam dealt with the Crazy Talking Blog long ago..

That WAS one thing he could control..

He will get the same improvement in his life when he steps back from that WHOLE job..

Sam's life will come back into balance..

War Dog said...

So you see, despite the fact that Sam was clearly upset about the change in direction..

It all works out for the best...

This job gained Sam National exposure..

Everyone knows Sam put up with the daily bombardment of Negativity for 3 years...

Sam paid his dues...

And he didn't cut-n-run as Janeane did..!!!!

New doors will swing open..

And Sam has earned the chance to march though them..!!!

War Dog said...

I just shine the light of truth, Jimmy...

That's my job here..

War Dog said...

Of course this Blog will be further cut loose and isolated..

With no physical link to an AAR show..

It will just become another Blogger Blog...

Sam will get back into Tv and Movies...

Easier now with a kinda well-known name..

It won't always be Sam-Who now..

It will be..

"You know the Air America Guy..!!!"

War Dog said...

Maybe Sam will get a TV pilot picked up...

That would be funny...

Or maybe he could do a movie with Janeane..

She owes him for runnin away..!!!

War Dog said...

Sam was the only one I listened to on AAR..

I little bit goes a long way..

So I won't listen to the new show..

Air America will continue to lose money...

But when it finally goes belly-up, Sam will be long gone..

That Sunday thing will just be a burden in his new life...!!

It's not for the New Sam..!!!

Sammer's life?

good question, maybe he'll tune us in to his thoughts on the matter.

i think it'll work out fine and i'm willing to help him change out his transmission or loan tools.

he likes being independant like the rest of us but realises 'no man is an island'.

our ability to adapt will get a bit of a workout here soon. i'm curious to see what'll happen.

War Dog said...

Even You Jimmy might have a chance to get back to life..

And what a blessing for poor Toni if she could find some happiness..

The poison in the place does not affect me...

I am immune to the Crazy Talk..

War Dog said...

Sam has seen change many times before..

He is just upset because he has put so much into AAR..

It just works out that way sometimes...

As soon as Sam see the light shining though that new doorway, he will be very excited again..!!!

I am still handsome!!!

War Dog said...

Well it's time to turn the Pub back to the locals..

I must work on reservations in Hawaii..

It's hard to plan that far in advance..

But if you don't you end up paying a fortune for everything on the Islands..

And it gives you something to look forward to...

Sam will be in that mode again soon..

I wish I could say I was upset over Sam's departure. Normaly I would be, but what good was he anyway when he denies the stark reality inferred by the unanswered questions of 9/11. It's hard to support someone who participates in the left wing gatekeeping. At least Mike Malloy could say he was fired for not shutting up and caving in to their pressure.

It's sad to hear Randi skirt the issue as well.

I'll support Mike Malloy for life and Alex Jones too!!!

dforty3...the truth is this....you are NEVER going to know what happened on 911.

We don't know what happened at Kent State...the Kennedy assassination....Pearl Harbor...or even the murder of Abe Lincoln.

The truth of what happened those days has long been hidden from the public.

Unknown said...

eya dforty3

i can see why Sam

moves on to todays issues.

but personally i'm hoping the blinders

come off soon. 911 was a crime of such immensity it's literally 'unreal'.

ever study the 'big lie' as a propaganda technique? far as i can see this is the only area where the bushies actually got their shit together and accomplished something.

so far the cover up has sorta worked, but i'm hoping it will unravel this year, in a big way.

Unknown said...

"We don't know what happened at Kent State...the Kennedy assassination....Pearl Harbor...or even the murder of Abe Lincoln."

Mornin!

actually that's inaccurate and a generalization. it might apply to most but not all. i think a real study of all the above will reveal most of what occurred during those events.

building 7 had most of the records on that 2.3 TRILLION that went "unaccountable" for example.

'who benefits' and 'follow the money' are questions well applied in that case.

the real question is when do you act when you know you're being screwed.

Anonymous said...

reality bites...

We may not know what happened but we know the official story is wrong.

I don't expect the people and organizations complicit in the activity and coverup to come clean now. But that doesn't mean we should stop speaking truth to power.

‘U.S., China got climate warnings toned down.’ In negotiations over the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report released on Friday, the United States and China “managed to eliminate language in one section that called for cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.” The original draft read: “However, adaptation alone is not expected to cope with all the projected effects of climate change, and especially not over the long run as most impacts increase in magnitude. Mitigation measures will therefore also be required.” But the second sentence does not appear in the final version of the IPCC Summary for Policymakers.
