all uses of the word 'white' on this page(31) have as the next word 'house,' except for two uses, one of which is above.

what I really want to know is how much does it take for someone to sell out?

If you have a family, mortgage and worse yet a 'lifestyle' on your shoulders, is it enough for someone to say;

"you either do this little thing for me or you'll never work in this town again (or, you'll be disgraced in your profession, or like that.)

And it is just a little thing. A small piece of the puzzle. A little piece of sky when most of the big picture is all sky anyway.

Instead of reading Perle or Tenet, I recommend the following links. Kiesling's book is worth reading too.

From Tristero posted at Hullabaloo:

"Heroes are always a rare thing. But one of the greatest of our time surely is John Brady Kiesling, the career diplomat in Greece who dramatically resigned in 2003 rather than continue to support the Bush/Iraq war."

"And that is the tragedy of the modern political discourse. There is nothing to gain from listening to any of the so-called conservative voices, be they Kristol, or Perle, or Wolfowitz, or Rumsfeld, or Cheney or O'Reilly...well, you can list them as well as I. There is no there there, intellectually or morally. There is only the will to power and the willingness to say anything, do anything, to seize power and wield it beyond oversight or question."

"Kiesling writes with undisguised bitterness at the financial and career rewards Tenet received for behaving like a scoundrel while, in contrast, Kiesling's job prospects were, in effect, destroyed because he was absolutely, and very publicly, right."

Link:

--------------

John Brady Kiesling wrote,

"An open-minded person who watched the interplay of nationalism and religion in the Middle East, anyone who listened sympathetically to ordinary Muslims, could have predicted the response to our amateurish attempts at preemptive democracy.

And now that foreign policy pragmatism is socially acceptable again, the spies, diplomats, politicians, journalists and academics are pulling out their private correspondence to remind us that indeed they knew better. They would have given an honest opinion on Iraq back when it mattered, but their Commander in Chief failed to ask them for it."

heh. this article kind of sums up my take on Michael Moore:

Michael Moore is making a new documentary about medicine and stuff entitled Sicko, and part of the film apparently sees Moore and a bunch of 9/11 victims go to Cuba to party down, Havana-style. Or something. Anyway, now the American government has launched an investigation into what Michael Moore was doing in Cuba in the first place, since it looks like his trip was unauthorised. All this means that Michael Moore could face a punishment of up to ten years in jail, which would surely be a blow for everyone who mostly agrees with the points Michael Moore films make in principle even though they sort of wish the obese pretend blue-collar millionaire would stop blathering on so self-righteously all the pissing time.

When Michael Moore makes a documentary, the world listens. Michael Moore made Bowling For Columbine and there was never another shooting in a school ever again. Michael Moore made Fahrenheit 9/11 and the War On Terror stopped immediately. And now Michael Moore is making Sicko, a film which will single handedly make Michael Moore a lot of money make all medicine free for everyone forever.

In honesty, Michael Moore's documentaries do raise a lot of awareness. Fahrenheit 9/11 took $222 million at the box office, helped bolster the anti-war movement and almost managed to make George Bush lose an election because of a video of him playing golf in a funny way. Sure, an angry vet sued Michael Moore for putting him in the film deliberately out of context, but never mind that.

And Sicko, Michael Moore's new film about the pharmaceutical industry, comes out next month. It's just a shame that he went to Cuba to film part of it without asking the American government for permission first, because now he's being investigated. Reuters reports:

The U.S. government has launched a probe into whether maverick director Michael Moore… broke laws when he went to Cuba for a new movie about U.S. health care. U.S. citizens face "civil and/or criminal penalties" for unauthorised travel to the communist country, the U.S. Treasury Department warned in a letter to the Oscar-winning director that was posted on Moore's Web site on Thursday.

The government is seeking Michael Moore's travel dates, details of the travellers and reason why he went to Cuba in the first place. Americans have been banned from visiting Cuba without government permission since 1962 and face up to ten years in jail or a $250,000 fine if they are caught doing so.

But don't feel bad for Michael Moore - this sort of controversy provides exactly the sort of publicity that Sicko needs, plus it's a win-win for everyone involved. The American government gets to endlessly carp on about what a dangerous anti-American lunatic Michael Moore is some more, while Moore himself gets to endlessly carp on about how much the government hates him because of how cool and anti-establishment he is. And the rest of us can watch each side destroy each other so we can live the rest of our lives in peace for a bloody change.

While the exact details of Michael Moore's trip to Cuba haven't been revealed - the 9/11 victim theory has already been discredited - we're sure that it'll be revealed when Sicko is released, along with other pieces of searing social commentary like clips of Michael Moore shouting at a confused receptionist, Michael Moore getting some ill people to stand outside a building and Michael Moore violently shaking his fist at a packet of Aspirin for 15 minutes solid.

Michael Moore Goes To Cuba, Gets Told Off

Sort of not PC and Moore has done some amazing things and put some things into perspective, but darn if he doesn't make the biggest show on earth while he is doing it.

Oh well. He certainly drives the administration up the wall and back. Who else could do that on their own the way he does?

37 die in Pakistani political violence By ZARAR KHAN, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 48 minutes ago

KARACHI, Pakistan - Pro-government and opposition groups blamed each other Sunday for the worst political violence to grip Pakistan in years, as fresh riots broke out and the toll from bloody street battles in Karachi rose to 37 dead and more than 150 wounded.

Unrest broke out Sunday in several ethnic Pashtun-dominated neighborhoods of the city, and "unknown people" fatally shot a man, police officer Shad Masih said. Police dispersed a crowd in the area using tear gas, he said.

Competing rallies timed for a Saturday visit by the country's top judge sparked gunfights and clashes between rival political activists that left bodies in the streets and raised new fears for the nation's stability.

A crisis has been brewing since President Gen. Pervez Musharraf suspended Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry on March 9 over allegations he abused his office. Critics accuse Musharraf, also army chief, of trying to sideline the independent-minded judge in case of legal challenges to efforts to prolong his nearly eight-year rule.

Newspaper editorials on Sunday lamented the descent into chaos and violence. "It appeared at times as if there was no government in Karachi and it was gunmen who ruled the nation's biggest city," said the respected Dawn daily.

The front-page headline in The News referred to a "Karachi bloodbath."

Order was largely restored Sunday. Security forces in armored personnel carriers and pickup trucks topped with machine guns patrolled the streets, which were mostly peaceful and deserted.

But tensions remained high, particularly between Pashtuns and Urdu-speaking supporters of the pro-government Mutahida Qaumi Movement party. Opposition parties have accused the MQM of initiating much of Saturday's violence, in which Pashtun supporters of Chaudhry were among the dead.

Just what we need...unrest in Pakistan!

Iran: Will talk with U.S. about Iraq By NASSER KARIMI, Associated Press Writer
2 hours, 9 minutes ago

Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said Sunday that Tehran has agreed to a formal request from the U.S. to talk about security in Iraq during meetings in Baghdad, the country's official news agency reported.

The report said Iran had received the request through the Swiss Embassy in Tehran, which often acts as an intermediary for the U.S. in the country.

There was no immediate comment or confirmation of the request from Washington.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari had said last week that he expected such Iranian-U.S. talks to happen in Baghdad soon.

During a meeting on Iraq's future in Baghdad two months ago, mid-level U.S. and Iranian officials did meet briefly and discuss Iran. Mid-level officials also met briefly at last weekend's Iraq summit at an Egyptian resort.

"Iran has agreed to this (negotiation) after consultation with Iraqi officials, in order to lessen the pain of the Iraqi people, support the Iraqi government and establish security and peace in Iraq," the agency quoted Mohammad Ali Hosseini, spokesman of Iran's foreign ministry, as saying.

The report said the negotiations will be held in Baghdad.

"Time and level of negotiation team will be decided by the end of the week," Hosseini was quoted as saying.

Hosseini said last week that Iran was willing, under the right conditions, to improve its chilly relations with the U.S. despite having passed up the opportunity for high-level, direct talks at the second Iraq conference.

Both nations had sounded interested in meeting at the summit, but the only direct contact came in a casual chat between two lower-ranking officials.

U.S. officials said before the conference that any meeting with the Iranians would be limited to the subject of Iraq, where the U.S. accuses Iran of undermining the fragile government and exporting particularly lethal roadside bombs, a charge that Iran denies.

Washington also accuses Iran of pursuing a nuclear weapons program, but Tehran insists that the program is only intended for peaceful purposes such as generating electricity.

On Friday, Vice President Dick Cheney, on an aircraft carrier about 150 miles from the Iranian coast, warned Iran that the U.S. and its allies would prevent the country from developing nuclear weapons and dominating the region.

In response to Cheney's comments, Hosseini on Sunday accused Washington of spreading fear in the Middle East.

"The U.S. is pursuing the creation of crisis, panic, fear and insecurity in the region, which we strongly oppose," he said.

OF course you didn’t watch the first Republican presidential debate on MSNBC. Even the party’s most loyal base didn’t abandon Fox News, where Bill O’Reilly, interviewing the already overexposed George Tenet, drew far more viewers. Yet the few telling video scraps that entered the 24/7 mediasphere did turn the event into an instant “Saturday Night Live” parody without “SNL” having to lift a finger. The row of 10 middle-aged white candidates, David Letterman said, looked like “guys waiting to tee off at a restricted country club.”

Al-Qaeda Group Claims Capture Of US Soldiers
Associated Press | THOMAS WAGNER | May 13, 2007 08:46 AM

Thousands of U.S. soldiers searched Sunday for three Americans who were missing after their patrol came under attack in an explosion that killed four other American soldiers and an Iraqi army translator. The Islamic State in
Iraq, an al-Qaida front group, said it had captured several soldiers in the attack, but offered no proof to back up its claim, posted on an Islamic Web site.

Meanwhile, a suicide truck bomber crashed into the offices of a Kurdish political party, killing at least 30 people and wounding dozens, including the mayor, officials said. It was the second suicide attack in Kurdish areas of the north in four days.

Hagel: Republican Meeting With Bush Is ‘Just The Tip Of The Iceberg’ Of Conservative Dissent »
Last week, a group of 11 congressional Republicans met with President Bush to express their frustration with the state of the Iraq war, pleading with Bush to change his unpopular Iraq policy.

Today, Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) said, “The 11 House Republicans who went to see him speak for more than just 11 House Republicans. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.” Hagel said that president “may find himself standing alone sometime this fall,” noting that several conservatives are beginning to back “trap doors and exit signs” to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.

Watch it:

Hagel’s comments undermine the spin of top conservative leaders like House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), who last week said “House Republicans are united in support” of Bush’s stay-the-course Iraq policy.

Hume: Conservatives Waiting Until September Are Inviting A ‘Tet Offensive’ »
Division over Iraq continues to rage on the right. This morning on Fox News Sunday, Fox News managing editor Brit Hume ripped into conservatives who claim they will demand a change in war policy if President Bush’s escalation policy hasn’t shown results by September.

“It’s been said that the setting of a timetable for withdrawal is the worst idea,” Hume offered. “If that’s true, the second worst is the announcement by Republicans and others that September is the drop-dead date for serious and major progress.”

Hume said conservatives who are waiting until September are placing “an enormously useful bit of intelligence in the hands of the enemy” and allowing terrorists and insurgents in Iraq to mount “something on the order of the Tet Offensive.” Watch it:

So, according to Hume, the United States should not only not set a timeline for ending the war, but should never talk about when it expects to see results of its military strategy. The perfect recipe for staying in Iraq forever.

toniD said...

Tucker: Active-Duty Generals Will ‘Revolt’ Against Bush If He Maintains Escalation Into 2008 »
Appearing on NBC’s Chris Matthews Show this morning, Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist Cynthia Tucker revealed that sources within the military are warning of “a revolt from active-duty generals if September rolls around and the president is sticking with the surge into ‘08.” Watch it:

Noting that retired generals such as Gen. John Batiste have already begun voicing their discontent with the president’s strategy in Iraq, Tucker added that the generals “don’t want to fall by the wayside like the generals in Vietnam did, kept pushing a war that they knew was lost.”

When President Bush vetoed the Iraq timeline legislation earlier this month, he claimed that “the measure would ‘impose impossible conditions on our commanders in combat’ by forcing them to ‘take fighting directions from politicians 6,000 miles away in Washington, DC.’”

But despite past claims that “the right force level” will be determined by “the sober judgement of our military leaders,” the Bush administration has a proven track record of disregarding the advice of military leaders. As recently as last December, when the White House was first pushing its escalation plan, the administration explicitly ignored “the unanimous disagreement of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.”

It appears the commanders on the ground in Iraq are getting tired of “taking fighting directions” from a politician “6,000 miles away” in the White House. And they might not stay quiet for long.

Mother's Day: Originally a Day for Peace

By Last Night in Little Rock, Section War In Iraq
Posted on Sun May 13, 2007 at 12:03:00 AM EST

"Mother's Day was originally designated as a day to inspire people to work for peace. It was conceived after wars at home and abroad by American abolitionist and suffragist Julia Ward Howe." RediscoverMothersDay.org.

Besides initiating the tradition of Mother's Day, Howe is best known as the author of the words to "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". As a pacifist during the Civil War, she witnessed the devastating effects of the conflict through her work with widows and orphans. In 1870 she wrote the "Mother's Day Proclamation," a call to women to oppose war and to convene to promote peace and be the architects of their family's -- and their own -- political futures. She presented it at international peace conferences in London and Paris , where she lamented the atrocities of not only the American Civil War, but also the Franco-Prussian War.
Howe envisioned the first "Mother's Day" as a time for women to gather, grieve and determine a peaceful solution to war.

Howe's 1870 "Mother's Day Proclamation" reads:

Let women now leave all that may be left of home for a great and earnest day of counsel.
Let them meet first, as women, to bewail and commemorate the dead.

Let them solemnly take counsel with each other as to the means / Whereby the great human family can live in peace, / Each bearing after his own time the sacred impress, not of Caesar, / But of God.

In the name of womanhood and humanity, I earnestly ask / That a general congress of women without limit of nationality / May be appointed and held at someplace deemed most convenient / And at the earliest period consistent with its objects, / To promote the alliance of the different nationalities, / The amicable settlement of international questions, / The great and general interests of peace.

"President Woodrow Wilson declared an official national Mother's Day in 1914, approving the Congressional resolution to celebrate the day every year on the second Sunday in May."

Is there anybody else out there who loved Sam's shows, but DOES NOT LIKE MARC MARON???

Maron and Jerry Springer were the only two departures from Air America that I really couldn't have been happier about. I simply never got the allure of the guy's show, featuring his would-be Woody Allen-esque personality. Maron's show wasn't particularly political. It wasn't particularly informative. It wasn't particularly energetic or energizing. It wasn't particularly hip. It wasn't particularly youth-oriented. And his tiresome "I've got a neurotic personality" schtick wasn't even particularly entertaining, or funny. Maybe he does great live stand-up, but it has never carried through on the radio. I've always observed Maron's on-air personality to be very irritating and un-charismatic. None of this is the case for Seder, by the way. Seder worked his ass off for his show and he brought content. I could never even find a consistent format on Maron's show (i.e. "What is this the point of this show anyway?")

Anyway, my 2 cents. It always fascinated me how everyone discussing the two always seemed to think they were both great and they both got the same raw deal. I don't think anything could be more wrong than that.

can you see george bush as The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The segment opens with the Sorcerer (named Yen Sid, or Disney spelled backwards) practicing his craft, calling up a smoky spirit in the shape of a bat that he changes into a misty butterfly.

[Bushie] Mouse is the lazy, young, and mischievous apprentice-magician of the powerful Wizard, assigned the tiring task of filling the large water vat in the cavern with buckets of water from an outdoor fountain.

He wipes his brow, weary from carrying water.

Left alone in the sorcerer's underground cavern after the Wizard yawns and then retires, he sees that the mystical Wizard has left behind his tall, pointed magical hat.

The glowing, powerful blue hat is decorated with white stars and a crescent moon.

Disney: Marking 50 years of manipulating reality

"What we create is a 'Disney Realism,' sort of Utopian in nature, where we carefully program out all the negative, unwanted elements and program in the positive elements," Disney designer and artist John Hench said in a 1975 company handbook.

"We create a world they can escape to … to enjoy for a few brief moments … a world that is the way they would like to think it would be."

So intense is Disneyland's effort to perpetuate its Pollyanna image that officials delayed Anaheim police for 90 minutes in a Disney conference room when a metal cleat snapped loose from the deck of the Columbia Sailing Ship and fatally struck a tourist on Christmas Eve 1998. Police were admitted only after workers had mopped up the blood and carted away the evidence.

Some critics say this "Disney Realism" is actually "Disney-fication" — a veneer that gives everything a more positive glow at the expense of history or reality.

"Miho write #1 postcard from Japan! Everyone like very much, all the time! They say Chubby-san #1 pimp with big hat!

In America prison pimp #1 criminal! Everyone like! Pimp is man who abuse women and get paid! And have many, many sex with drug addict, emotionally disturb and psycholic disterb woman! What not to like? Pimp make sex with manipulate woman!

In America prison worst criminal is rape-o. They call rape-o man who take sex with woman who no want. When rape-o sit down, all other America convict walk away. they never talk with rape-o! Rape-o very bad man who take sex from weak woman! See why rape-o very bad and pimp #1?

Chubby-san no happy! Washington Department of Correction make Chubby-san wear "tighty-whitie" underwear all of time! No like tightie-whitie! Chubby-san say boxer-brief #1 underwear! But new Doc rule say only have 3 pair personal underwear, and 3 pair personal sock, too!

Chubby-san very bored of Washington prison! Chubby-san say Washington prison dumb! Very dumb and very much boring all the time, too!

Chubby-san buy mail order shoe! And hope they come in mail very, very soon. Old Washington prison shoe hurt feet. Everyone say Chubby-san order sock at same time but will have to send sock back. Very sad because new Washington prison Doc say convict no have personal white sock! Only "non-white" crew, gym or dress sock in Washington prison! They wait till Chubby-san make order, men change rule, make stupid rule, too!

In Washington prison when prisoner break rule, they call infraction. Infraction very bad! they make 3-day, 7-day and 10-day "cell restriction" or even send to "hole." Hole is special jail inside of prison! Chubby-san no want to go to cell restriction or especially hole! So Chubby-san no get infraction!

Many inmate get infraction. They "I no care!" And that show correction officer who is tough guy! Miho no get infraction at school, ok?"

Pixar Promises Change for Disney's Media By David Coursey
January 26, 2006

Opinion: Having Steve Jobs as the largest shareholder in Walt Disney could mean some positive developments when it comes to media distribution.

While Jobs will be Disney's largest shareholder, once his Pixar shares become Disney stock, it's hard to predict what his influence on the company may be.

The acquisition was completed on May 5, 2006 (swapping one Pixar share for 2.3 shares of Disney)

Spying in the Death Star: The AT&T Whistle-Blower Tells His Story
05.10.07

Diagrams in the document show that AT&T technicians split fiber-optic cables handling AT&T's WorldNet internet service

-- as well as traffic to and from other major ISPs --

diverting copies of the traffic into the room, which was packed with internet-monitoring equipment. ...

Later on, I was trying to troubleshoot the network.

And I found that when I bypassed the splitter (into the secret room) the network would work.

They were screwing up their own network. They were degrading their own network. ...

Klein: I've called and sent letters to senators and Congress members.

They haven't called back. I don't think they want to pursue it.

They want to talk about this behind closed doors.

These days I am angry at Congress for helping them keep it secret.

joke teller: Doesn't matter. So anyway, this guy walks into a bar wi--

the literalist: Hold on, now. What guy? Is this someone you know? Hold old is he?

joke teller: What goddamn difference does it make?

the literalist: Well, it might.

joke teller: Look, are you gonna need to know how long this guy's dick is before I can tell this fucking joke?

the literalist (w/dismaying sincerity): You mean, it's a dick joke? About diddling? I'm not sure I wanna hear that.

joke teller (noting complete absence of sarcasm gene, losing patience, said slowly, deliberately): A generic human being walks into a generic bar with a duck in his hands and--

the literalist: Hold it, hold it, hold it. Stop right there. Now, c'mon. They'd never let him in a bar with a duck in his hands. I mean, really! And do you believe for a second that a duck would hold stock-still and not squirm or flap out of his hands or shit all over the place? You must be out of your mind!

joke teller: Yes, I must be out of my mind. Perhaps we both are? And a mind is a terrible thing to waste, you know. At the present moment, anyway, it would appear we've both wasted ours, wouldn't it? But when we part ways, my temporary insanity for speaking with you will subside, but you, dear fellow, will always be a tiresome study in the fundamental art of concrete thinking. Rock on.

Lindsey Graham: Escalation Critics Are Calling The Troops ‘Losers’ »
Today on CNN, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Bush’s Iraq critics are calling the troops losers. “Let’s don’t undercut [Bush’s escalation plan],” he said. “Let’s don’t declare this war lost because you’re telling all these soldiers and Petraeus that they’re losers.”

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) immediately ripped into Graham’s characterization, stating, “I don’t know anyone who opposes this war that ever said our troops are losers. Our troops are winners.”

Boxer continued, “Lindsey, just be careful what you say. The bottom line here is that the losers are the ones who have engineered this war, made a huge mistake — Dick Cheney we’re in the last throes, the war will last six months — and all of you who have supported this escalation and have turned us away from fighting al Qaeda into putting us in the middle of a civil war.” Watch it:

Boxer concluded, “The loser is the Commander-in-Chief who has not led our country well.”

Song of Deborah

...They chose new gods; then was war in the gates.. Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song.. the LORD made you have dominion over the mighty... Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of justice against the mighty... Have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two? So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD.. And the land rest forty years. Judges 5.

Deborah Palfrey deserves the Pemberton Award for Clean Governance.
Palfrey list is like the Black Book of 1918.
That Trial of the century is deleted from all books.
The list there had 47000 names.
The list here has 46000 phone bills.
The listed are not womenizers, machos or ordinary sinners.
They are power brokers, gay lutheran shock and awe blitzkrieg agitators of all wars and all panics.
These wretches are one dirty cover to the real pimps deep undercover.
A curse on the kingpinps, Justice Charles Darling then and Judge Adolph Limbough Kessler now.
